Commissions
Pet portraits, wildlife and other commissions.
I love drawing animals - whether pets, wildlife or farm animals. We have many animals in our family so I understand the bond between owner and pet and love capturing that for my clients.

I work directly from photographs, so it is important I have good quality images to work from. This allows me to create a really detailed portrait for you.

Wildlife & Still Life Commissions
Please email me any photographs you may have taken yourself that you would like me to work from. Alternatively I have access to huge libraries of suitable photographs.

Pet Portraits
If you have a photograph in mind that is great, if not please see my tips for pet photographs here for advice on this.

When you have your photograph(s) please send as many as you like and I will be able to choose the one I think will work best for the drawing. The standard sort of photo would be a close-up headshot, preferably taken at eye level and either outside or in a naturally well lit room as the sunlight picks up all the details in the fur. However, if you have a photo of your animal in another pose you would like me to draw, I am happy to discuss.

Commission price guidelines
Pastel (colour) or Charcoal (black and white)
A4 (21x30cm) - 1 animal = from £145
A3 (30x42cm) - 1 animal = from £250

The majority of my commissions tend to be single animal head/shoulders shots with minimal or no background so the animal is the main focus. With multiple animals or more complex backgrounds, please email me for prices and guidance.

I do require a 25% deposit for me to start the work and the remaining 75% on completion. Postage & packaging costs for commissions are £10.

Please note that as the artist I retain the copyright for all artworks I produce, including pet portrait commissions. This means that I may choose to create prints from your painting commission. If this is something you are not comfortable please let me know prior to starting your commission.
